Find Out Why Your SSL Is Broken: SSL Server Test

Have a broken SSL? Follow this tutorial to run a quick and easy SSL test to identify what files or mix content is keeping your site from being fully secure.

There are a variety of reasons why your site’s SSL is broken:

  • A recent site migration or change from http:// to https://
  • Data/API calls and content loaded via non-secure http://
  • Mixed content errors
  • URL redirects or incorrect DNS settings

Test & Identify Your Site’s SSL Issues

If your website has a broken SSL, use these sites to run a quick and easy test:

  1. Qualys SSL Server Test and/or WhyNoPadlock (our favorite)
  2. Enter your domain URL and click “Submit”

  3. Once the report is generated, you can click through the various findings and fixes that are causing your SSL to not load properly. Once you have made the recommended fixes, clear any cache and revisit your page to see if your SSL is working again. If not, repeat step 2.
